Financial Support for Families

As part of the St Andrew’s RC Secondary School action planto supportthe national Cost of the School Day initiative, we are providing families with information about the financial support available to them and promoting the role of the school's designated Financial Inclusion Support Officer (FISO).

Information Booklet

An information booklet is now available below and on the Parents and Families section of the school website. This provides a summary of the main forms of financial support available to families with school age children and how to apply for them

Financial Inclusion Support Officer (FISO)

FISOs are responsible for helping parents and carers claim social security benefits and school aged entitlements, offering debt and financial capability support and referring them to energy, digital inclusion and employability services.  This is a free service that is available to all families with school age children in Glasgow.

In Bellahouston Academy alone the project has brought financial gains of more than £400K to families in the area, much of which was benefits and entitlements which had previously gone unclaimed.

Catherine Somerville is the designated FISO for St Andrew's. Catherine works for Money Matters and can be contacted on 0141 648 2022 (Mon- Fri 9:00 -5:00)
